All Beginnings are Hard... especially in Berlin

Learn German for beginners

Learning German is always a challenge for beginners. Especially in Berlin, where you really don’t have an easy time learning German at all. And beginners aren’t all the same. Students from Sweden, Denmark or the Netherlands usually find it much easier to learn German at the beginning than those from South Korea or Nepal, for example. This is of course clear to us at the deutSCHule in Berlin. Our experienced teachers will make sure you get all the support you need, based on your personal needs and circumstances.

Go ahead! Learn German effectively!

GERMAN BEGINNER COURSE IN BERLIN

You don’t speak any German at all? Or maybe you already have some German friends in Berlin helping you to learn German? Beginners often get to know German in Berlin through their personal environment. This often involves trivial things, such as understanding a subway plan or placing an order in a restaurant. At the very beginning, simple phrases are learned by heart without the speaker even understanding what he or she is actually doing linguistically. Learning proper German, however, means learning to understand the language and how to use it correctly; at least for beginners in the deutSCHule. We know that language is the number one key to society. And we help beginners in learning German to open plenty of locked doors.

LEARN HOW TO SPEAK GERMAN CORRECTLY

With us at the deutSCHule in Berlin, you learn how to speak German correctly. The German courses for beginners are particularly dear to our hearts. Why? In the first weeks of your German course you lay the foundations for your later language level. If you don’t learn to avoid mistakes and to understand and correctly apply rules in a precise and disciplined way from the beginning, you will have a lot of trouble finding your way in more complex language context later on. As a beginner, you are of course allowed to make a lot of mistakes. It’s okay! You’re even supposed to experiment freely with the German language. This is a lot of fun at the early stages of learning German. Some words sound strangely familiar, others strangely abstract. Some umlauts may remind you of animal sounds, and your neighbour’s pronunciation is entirely different from yours. All this is quite normal – especially in the A1 German course for beginners. It is, however, important to reflect on your speech on a regular basis. You want to make sure to correct the pronunciation and that you understand and apply the grammar rules. And of course: to practice, practice, practice!

Then you will you quickly leave the German beginner level behind and find your way in your German-speaking environment without any problems.
